Compensation Grade: $130,000 – $180,000

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Perform tax quality control review of medium to advanced level business and individual tax returns to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Successfully research complex tax issues, applying findings to projects and clearly communicate those findings in writing
  • Keeps current on tax laws, accounting standards, and related education
  • Assist in the training, development, management, retention, and recruitment of professional staff
  • Understand client service relationships and how to utilize firm resources to provide unmatched client service to existing clients
  • Monitors and communicates with partners on the progress and timely completion of projects
  • Prepares other reports, projects, and duties as assigned
  • Achieves department goals for chargeable and total hours, utilizes available staff, manages delegation and hours distribution
  • Communicate with team lead for timely and cost effective completion of projects
  • Makes recommendations to improve firm operations
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on growth opportunities with existing clients and prospects

Position Summary

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing tax engagements, reviewing complex tax returns, mentoring staff, and providing high-quality client service. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Review medium to complex business and individual tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Research complex tax issues and clearly communicate findings and recommendations both verbally and in writing
Stay current on tax laws, accounting standards, and continuing professional education requirements
Assist with the training, development, mentoring, recruitment, and retention of professional staff
Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional client service
Monitor engagement progress and communicate project status and deadlines with partners and team members
Manage workflow, delegation, staffing utilization, and department productivity goals
Collaborate with team leaders to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects
Identify opportunities to improve firm operations, processes, and efficiencies
Partner with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities with existing and prospective clients
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Title: Bookkeeper
FLSA Status: Full Time, Non- Exempt
Compensation Grade: $26 – $34 per hour
Office Location: Maple Grove, MN
Reports to: Managing Partner

As a Bookkeeper you will be providing a variety of basic accounting and bookkeeping services for clients. These duties are commonly performed in-house and include processing of financial information.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Accounts Payable processing including coding, entering bills, and generating payments
  • Code and enter credit card activity and reconcile account
  • Code and enter checks and deposits
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Process client payrolls – live and after the fact and make payroll tax payments
  • Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
  • Calculate and make sales tax payments
  • Make payroll journal entries
  • Analyzes and tests accuracy and reasonableness of work completed and information presented
  • Communicates with team lead for timely and cost effective completion of projects
  • Achieves chargeable budgeted time goals
  • Assists clients with set up or training on accounting software
  • Assist clients with bookkeeping processes and problem solving any bookkeeping errors
  • Travel to clients office as needed in the metro area

Title: Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for organizing and coordinating clients’ data for the accurate, timely completion of financial statements and individual and business tax returns. Performance is measured on the quality of work, application of accounting knowledge and ability to meet time constraints.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare financial statements and individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections.
  • Prepare client correspondence, letters, emails, or other communication on a regular basis.
  • Respond to client’s and colleagues’ requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner.
  • At the direction of the partners, managers or senior managers, research and consult on various tax issues and make recommendations to the client and/or management/partner group for consideration.
  • Build relations with clients by providing superior client services.
  • May perform some audit work independently or can be directed by manager/senior manager on audit assignments.
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
  • Participate in Practice Development as requested.
